THE PATH OF TRUE PROSPERITY

PSALM 1
1 Blessed is the manwho does not walk in the counsel of the wickedor stand in the way of sinnersor sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in seasonand whose leaf does not wither.Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaffthat the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. ( NIV )

In this day of getting what you want the easy way, or with as little effort or cost, seems to be what people call blessed. We get caught up in the game to see who can get the most gain out of life. If I have more than my neighbor I have suceeded. I am blessed.
The problem is, it will all perish in the end.
To be truly blessed, is to be one who delights himself in the Lord and in His ways. To read His word of truth and apply it to your daily life, allowing the Lord to direct your path. You will prosper in ways you never would have understood before.
True prosperity is not in the things that are seen, but in the goodness that the Lord puts in the hearts of those who seek Him.

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

THE GOSPEL IS THE TESTIMONY OF THE LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST, DEATH BY CRUCIFIXION, THE BURIAL OF JESUS, THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS FROM THE DEAD ON THE THIRD DAY AND JESUS ASCENSION TO HEAVENJESUS LIFE - Given to redeem all who put thier trust in Him, paying the debt for your sin in your place. ( "for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him sould not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16 NASB ) -( "for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23 NASB )JESUS TEACHING - He would teach about the kingdom of God and eternal life by telling stories (parables), also by doing many miraculous signs and healing of the sick, lame and the blind. Saying, if you do not believe in Me, believe in the works that I do, because they bear witness of who I am and were I am from.DEATH BY CRUCIFIXION - This was regarded asthe most horrible form of death, and to a Jew it would acquire greater horror from the curse in Deut. 21:23. This punishment began by subjecting the sufferer to scourging. In the case of our Lord, however, his scourging was rather before the sentence was passed upon him, and was inflicted by Pilate for the purpose, probably, of exciting pity and procuring his escape from further punishment (Luke 23:22; John 19:1).. The condemned one carried his own cross to the place of execution, which was outside the city, in some conspicuous place set apart for the purpose. Before the nailing to the cross took place, a medicated cup of vinegar mixed with gall and myrrh (the sopor) was given, for the purpose of deadening the pangs of the sufferer. Our Lord refused this cup, that his sensesmight be clear (Matt. 27:34). The spongeful of vinegar, sour wine, posca, the common drink of the Roman soldiers, which was put on a hyssop stalk and offered to our Lord in contemptuous pity (Matt. 27:48; Luke 23:36), he tasted to allay the agonies of his thirst (John 19:29). The accounts given of the crucifixion of our Lord are in entire agreement with the customs and practices of the Roman in such cases. He was crucified between two "malefactors" (Isa. 53:12; Luke 23:32), and was watched by a party of four soldiers (John 19:23; Matt. 27:36, 54), with their centurion. The "breaking of the legs" of the malefactors was intended to hasten death, and put them out of misery (John 19:31); but the unusual rapidity of our Lord's death (19:33) was due to his previous sufferings and his great mental anguish. The omission of the breaking of his legs was the fulfilment of a type (Ex. 12:46). He literally died of a broken heart, a ruptured heart, and hence the flowing of blood and water from the wound made by the soldier's spear (John 19:34). Our Lord uttered seven memorable words from the cross, namely, (1) Luke 23:34; (2) 23:43; (3) John 19:26; (4) Matt. 27:46, Mark 15:34; (5) John 19:28; (6) 19:30; (7) Luke 23:46.JESUS BURIAL - Close to the place where Jesus was crucified there was a garden and in it a new tomb, hewn out of the rock, which Joseph of Arimathea had prepared for himself. After Jesus was laid inside the tomb, a huge stone was rolled in place to seal off the tomb. (Matt. 27:57-60; Mark 15:46; John 19:41, 42). .THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS - ( "On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’" Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened" Luke 24:1 - 24:12 NIV )After appearing to the two on the road to Emmaus, ( Luke 24:13 - 24:35 NIV ) While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence. He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." ( LUKE 24:36 - 24:49 NIV )JESUS ASCENSION TO HEAVEN - In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." ( ACTS 1:1 - 1:11 NIV )HOW DO YOU RESPOND - But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, or, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." ( ROMANS 10:8 - 10:13 )HOW TO PRAY TO BE SAVED - Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for me. I believe that you are Lord. I believe that God raised you from the dead. I give my life to you. Thank you Jesus!
